Sequoyah Elementary Library
Sequoyah Elementary library services over 450 students and 50 staff members.  Our collection contains roughly 15,000 materials and we average 250 materials checked out daily by patrons.   All students, parents, faculty, and staff can borrow materials from our library.

Thanks to our hardworking foundation, we have 25 computers and an Activ Board for student and faculty use.

Our library has a new parenting section that serves as a great research tool for our parents.   We currently subscribe to 15 periodicals geared towards students and teachers.  Our library has an extensive audio-visual collection that can be used by staff to enhance the Knox County curriculum.

Mission Statement:
Knox County Library Media Specialists foster an environment that enables users to appreciate reading and to access and evaluate information by providing resources and experiences that contribute to life-long learning.
Library Announcements
Read For 20
Sequoyah is joining forces with the Children's Reading Foundation of Knox County to encourage parents and children to read for 20 minutes daily.  Your K-3 students will be bringing home a Reading Pledge and a Reading Log this week for you to sign with them and return to their classroom teacher.  Reading Logs will be sent home monthly.  Please track the number of minutes your child reads each night and add them up at the end of the month.  When the logs are returned to school, we will tally the amount that Sequoyah has read and report it to the Children's Reading Foundation.  Let's show Knox County what awesome readers Sequoyah students are!
Library Volunteers Still Needed
We need many volunteers to help our library run smoothly.  Please consider donating some time with us this year.  If you can help as little as 30 minutes a month, we would greatly appreciate your help!
Requesting Accelerated Reader Tests
Did you know that you can request for an Accelerated Test to be ordered and imported into our school database?  I am happy to order tests for books/series your student(s) may have read at home or through the public library.  Just email me the name of the book/series and author and I will check and see if a test is available.
